In addition to charitable giving, Child Health is actively involved in the Quaker Valley area communities carrying out its mission: to nurture the WHOLE child by supporting programs and services that directly address children's emotional, physical, cultural and recreational needs.

Dental and Betty Galey Vision Screening — Two long-standing programs where Child Health volunteers partner with the school district (including public, private and parochial schools) to assess vision and dental problems, and provide education to prevent such problems. Child Health provides financial assistance for corrective actions identified to those families unable to afford the care.

Community Outreach — At the request of our grantee organizations or others in need, Child Health solicits contributions of goods from our members to support wish lists and specific needs.  Recent contributions include summer scholarships to the Sewickley Community Center pool; gas cards for CASA volunteers, and food for the Sewickley food pantry.

Cultural Enrichment — Child Health provides funding for culturally enriching programs and projects for students in the public, parochial and private school in the Quaker Valley School District.

Volunteers — Always with giving in mind, Child Health members are active volunteers in the community supporting children, including coaches and scorekeepers, parent/teacher organizations, various school cultural and educational programs, Sunday school teachers, and members of several non-profit boards supporting children.
