At the request of our grantee organizations, Child Health solicits goods from our members to support wish lists and specific needs. In the past Child Health has donated books to the Allegheny County Courthouse for children whose parents were there for court matters; gift cards to Every Child, Inc. to help supplement holiday celebrations; and gently worn teen clothing to the Mars Home for Youth.

From 2007 through 2009, Child Health teamed with Allegheny General Hospital to provide a “survival” tote bag for families whose premature infants had been admitted to the Intensive Care Nursery. Child Health purchased attractive gray tote bags with the organization’s logo, and then members filled the totes with all the necessities: parent handbook, current issue of the March of Dimes’ Preemie Magazine, journal, photo album, information about respiratory illnesses that premature babies are vulnerable to, snacks, water, hand sanitizer and a patient satisfaction survey.
